![]() The GAP Tool (Gather, Analyze, and Plan) is a simple Excel-based tool to help policymakers, ministry officials, health officials, and advocates understand and plan for the costs associated with expanding family planning to achieve their country’s contraceptive prevalence or fertility goals. Family-friendly workplace policies provide benefits such as on-site health services, childcare, family planning, maternity leave, transportation, and flexible scheduling. This model is designed to help managers analyze the costs and advantages of providing family-friendly benefits through the workplace. These interactive tools are designed to illustrate key concepts in population and family planning dynamics, allowing the user to select a country to examine the concepts of the demographic dividend, the proximate determinants of fertility, population momentum, and family planning goals. This software and publications are available to download free of charge. With the help of partner organizations Futures Group and Avenir Health (previously Futures Institute), HPP has developed various computer models to analyze existing information, helping policymakers determine the impact and effectiveness of specific programs. HPP also provides training and technical assistance in applying software applications to support the development and monitoring of effective policy. These resources include publications, training manuals, software, models, toolkits, technical papers, and project reports that cover a wide range of topics and offer advice, guidelines, and data to help strengthen public health programs.
